shanghai’d: part 0, the call
September 3rd, 2009 by Paul Daniel Ash

In a totally unexpected (and I mean TOTALLY unexpected) turn of events, my employer has decided to send me to China to unfuck a situation with a high-profile business partner. I generally have good luck with these types of things, but I hate being Johnny-on-the-spot in a high pressure situation.

On the other hand: Shanghai, bitches! Don’t know how much time I’ll have to sightsee or mess around, but I’m going to do as much as I can. At a minimum, I’m going to go find some authentic xiao long bao and maybe look for a deal on a sweet DSLR with which I can take pictures off the World Financial Center. Totally want to see the City God Temple, too. Boston needs some City Gods.

Gotta maintain both jobs on the fly. Posting may be sporadic or nonexistent, but I’m fully intending to blog the trip with pen and paper. I’ll upload images and words on my return if not in real-time.

再见, yo.
